Instead of buying popcorn at the theatre, next time try making this recipe. I'm sorry, but if the theatre can't start offering healthier options, then you'll just have to get a bigger purse and bring your own. Or save your money altogether and just stay home in your pajamas to watch movies.

(Per serving : ? PointsPlus / If you're popping with oil, you probably don't care about points anyway!)
1 mini bag of Orville Redenbacher's Smart Popcorn
OR 2 cups air-popped popcorn
OR 1/4 cup popcorn kernels and 2 tablespoons canola oil
2 tablespoons seasoning blend
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon dried dill
(or 2 teaspoons of any herb/spice blend you want to come up with)
For microwave popcorn, pop according to package directions, then mix the garlic salt, chili powder and dill together, add the blend to the bag and shake.
For air-popped popcorn, pop according to your poppers instructions.
If you chose to go with the stove top method, begin by setting the stove to medium low heat. In a large pot, add oil and swirl to coat the bottom, then add corn and put the lid on. Place it on the burner and once it starts to pop, shake the pot. Make sure the lid doesn't go flying off. Shake the pot often to prevent burning.
Once the popping slows down remove from the heat and sprinkle on the seasoning. Return the lid and give it a shake. You'll need to add points for oil here. Just go with Orville's! Or if you have a popper, use it! This is your best option at only 2 PointsPlus for 2 cups of popcorn!
If you want to be really bad, add some melted butter before you add the seasoning. Don't forget to add points for butter! But is it really worth it? You may as well just buy the popcorn from the theatre.
