Italian Lemon Cake

This Italian lemon pound cake is a recipe that I'd had my eye on for a long time. I finally made it back in April! I skipped adding frosting but if you visit the original recipe it'll tell you how to make it. The glaze needed a lot more lemon juice than the recipe called for. I used 5 tablespoons of lemon juice and it was still very thick. The cake itself isn’t very lemony so you really do need either the glaze or the frosting to bring the lemon flavour to this recipe. I'm not complaining though, it was still really delicious! Shrimp Linguine Alfredo

I love cream sauce and I love pasta! This recipe for Shrimp Linguine Alfredo is delicious!

Shrimp Linguine Alfredo

Makes 4 servings

  • 5 cups cooked pasta
  • 3 tablespoons each butter & olive oil
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 40 shrimp peeled & deveined
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • Lemons
  • Melt butter in oil in a large nonstick pan over medium high heat.
  • Add garlic and fry only for a few seconds just until it starts to change colour. Add shrimp and cook just until they're almost pink. Remove the shrimp to a bowl immediately. If you overcook your shrimp they will be chewy!
  • Add the flour & pepper to the pan. There should still be some butter/oil, if not, add another teaspoon. Cook for a minute then add the milk and whisk until it thickens.
  • Stir in the cheese.
  • Add the shrimp back and cook just for a minute to heat through.
  • Add the pasta and parsley and give it a toss. It's ready to serve. Squeeze a little lemon on it before you eat it. Yummy!
  • You could make this with chunks of chicken breast.


  1. I tried this today. Very good. I added whipping cream to the mix and a little more cheese.

    1. I haven't tried, but I don't see why not.
