Italian Lemon Cake

This Italian lemon pound cake is a recipe that I'd had my eye on for a long time. I finally made it back in April! I skipped adding frosting but if you visit the original recipe it'll tell you how to make it. The glaze needed a lot more lemon juice than the recipe called for. I used 5 tablespoons of lemon juice and it was still very thick. The cake itself isn’t very lemony so you really do need either the glaze or the frosting to bring the lemon flavour to this recipe. I'm not complaining though, it was still really delicious! Pizza Sauce

Here's a super easy recipe for pizza sauce. 

If you don't have Italian seasoning you can use oregano and basil instead


Pizza Sauce
Makes enough for 2 large pizzas

V Leave out the cheese to make it vegan.


Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (any kind)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • salt to taste
Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients together and let stand for 30 minutes before using so all the flavours can get to know each other.
