Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

Peanut butter blossom cookies are probably one of my favourite cookies of all time. This recipe for peanut butter blossoms makes a soft cookie with just the right amount of chocolate from the Hershey’s Kisses. These easy to make cookies are perfect for Christmas or any other holiday. Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies Makes 42 Cookies Adapted from allrecipes.com Ingredients 1 cup shortening 1 cup smooth peanut butter 1 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup white sugar 2 large eggs 1/4 cup milk 2 teaspoons vanilla extract  3 1/2 cups all purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 42 Hershey Kisses or Hugs, unwrapped White sugar for rolling Directions Preheat the oven to 375F and line some baking trays with parchment paper.  Beat shortening, peanut butter, and sugars  in a large bowl until well combined. Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

I just LOVE peanut butter and chocolate together. Here’s something that I haven’t baked for Christmas in a long time. This year I decided it was time to make some.

The recipe is very easy, but for some reason mine fell flat. I did double the recipe so that could have something to do with it. It doesn’t matter because they are still soft and delicious!
Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Makes 18 cookies

Ingredients
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter (not the natural kind)
  • 1 egg
  • 18 Hershey’s kisses, unwrapped
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment. 
  2. Combine sugar, peanut butter, and egg until a dough forms. 
  3. Shape into 1 inch balls and place on prepared cookie sheet. Press down to flatten slightly. 
  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Remove cookies from oven and press a kiss into the centre of each cookie while they’re still warm. 
  6. Cool completely before stacking. I put mine in the freezer for a few minutes to hurry things along. The kisses take awhile to harden on their own.
